Here are two bash commands that I use regularly. They allow you to rename the file names to lower case and transform the spaces into dashes. This allows the end to have names a little more standard, especially when files are to be posted on the Internet.How this works:
Just open a terminal and position yourself in the directory containing the files. Be careful, the commands below are not capable of supporting sub-directories.
Here is the command to rename the file names in lower case:
for i in *; do mv “$i” “$(echo $i | tr A-Z a-z)”; done
And finally, one to convert spaces to indent:
for i in *; do mv “$i” “$(echo $i | tr ” ” “-“)”; done
